Search engine optimisation (SEO), is the art and science of getting your web pages to list well in the search engines on merit (also known as organic listings).
This is not to be confused with Pay-Per-Click advertising (PPC) such as Google AdWords, which has nothing to do with search engine optimisation. For a fuller explanation of organic and paid listings read Small Business SEO 101: The Basics.
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO): What is Included
Search engine optimisation deals with both the content of your website or blog and its structure. We offer a full on-page SEO service to small businesses throughout the UK and beyond.
Medium to Long-Term Results
Search engine optimisation is the foundation of a good website or blog and the key to better search engine listings in the medium to long term. It is not a quick fix and should only be undertaken if you are prepared to wait for results. The wait will be very rewarding for those who have the patience. Typically, results will take 3 months or longer. If you want quicker results you should consider pay-per-click (PPC) and other forms of advertising.
Attractive Content for Website Visitors
In light of recent changes to Google’s algorithm, on-page search engine optimisation is now even more than ever, about making sure that your content is unique, of high quality and genuinely useful to your website or blog visitors. As part of our on-page search engine optimisation work we will write content for you. You provide the ideas and we will turn those ideas into high quality, unique content your visitors will love.
Attractive Content for Search Engines
On-page search engine optimisation is also about making sure that the content of your website and the way that content is structured is attractive to, and understandable by search engines like Google, Yahoo! and Bing. This will improve your place in the search engine listings, and therefore the traffic that comes to your website from those search engines.
Detailed Keyword Research
The cornerstone of good on-page search engine optimisation is detailed keyword research. Without it everything else is pointless. We use several state-of-the-art keyword analysis software suites to provide this research for your site. There is no way to shortcut keyword research. Gut feeling, hunches and straw polls are never a substitute for detailed keyword research. Free tools like the Google AdWords Keyword Tool are helpful as a rough guide or for PPC campaigns, but simply cannot provide enough detail for proper on-page SEO work.
Note: If you buy one of our websites, all the above on-page search engine optimisation comes as standard.
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO): Pricing
Our SEO pricing is in 3 key stages:
1. Creating an SEO plan for your entire website
Price £300
We will analyse your website in detail. We will look at all aspects of it and their effect on its search engine optimisation. We will carry out detailed keyword research and backlink analysis for your home page and main section pages and then produce a report, detailing the steps necessary to improve your search engine listings. We will send you this report as both a hard copy and as a PDF file. This report will be prepared and compiled by a human SEO expert and is yours to keep without any further obligation.
2. Modifying and/or writing page content for each page according to that plan
Price £150 per web page
We will write search engine optimised copy for your web page based upon the above report. This can only be done after purchasing the SEO report above.
3. Deploying that optimised content on your web pages
Price £10 per web page
You are very welcome to deploy the optimised copy yourself, or have your web designer do it for you. However, if you would prefer us to deploy the copy, we can do it for you, (assuming you can give us the relevant login information).

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO): Resources
Below are a range of SEO tools suitable for everyone from beginners to SEO experts. Some are free and some aren’t and we recommend all of them.
General SEO Tools
Google AdWords Keyword Tool – A free keyword research tool designed to help you choose the right keywords to target when setting up a Google AdWords campaign. Whilst useful as a starting point in keyword research, if you are serious about finding and using the right keywords for your business, this tool is somewhat limited and we suggest you choose a more comprehensive one from the list below.
Market Samurai – A free trial version is available. Market Samurai is in our opinion the best all-round keyword research tool available on the market. It will allow you to do very detailed keyword research and to track the position of your web pages in the search engine results too.
SERP Alert Pro – A brilliantly simple tool for automatically tracking how well your website is doing in the search engines for your choosen keywords over time. It is only a tracking tool and cannot do keyword research.
Web CEO – A fully comprehensive suite of keyword research software. Somewhat complicated, but if you are a web designer or other web marketing professional it is well worth the investment.
WordPress SEO Tools
If your website or blog is written in WordPress, these WordPress SEO plugins will also be of use to you.
Scribe – A premium WordPress plugin to help you choose keywords and optimise your posts and pages for those keywords.
