Perhaps the Most Powerful Force in Marketing

We all know that the most powerful force in marketing is word-of-mouth. But why is that?

Well first, word-of-mouth marketing is free. Second, word-of-mouth marketing when it’s done properly is highly infectious and can spread rapidly.

So ask yourself this… Would you like a constant stream of new business leads from people who have already pretty much decided that it’s you they want to do business with?

OK that’s a no-brainer.

But before I get to that, why is it that word-of-mouth marketing is so powerful?

Here’s why…

It’s because business; especially long-term, sustainable business is about building strong relationships with everyone including your past, present and future customers.

You need to turn those customers into “raving fans” as Michael Heppell puts it in his amazing book How to be Brilliant.

So how can you turn people into raving fans of your business?

Simple: become a Go-Giver.

Go-Givers set out to provide the best possible solution for their customers and prospects. They bend over backwards to help people. They have an infectious enthusiasm for everything they do and a passion for helping people. They go the extra mile – simply because they want to. They under-promise and over-deliver. They put themselves out and see everything from the customers perspective first. Above all they see people (customers, suppliers and staff) as the most important part of their business and they give of themselves, to all of these people constantly.

As a result, their businesses focus on delivering brilliant value- for-money, exceptional customer service and excellent products, rather than quick profits.

Impossible in a tough economic climate? Definitely not.

By becoming a Go-Giver you will have a constant stream of prospects who want to buy from you and your business will flourish, regardless of economic conditions or any amount of competition.

To find out more about becoming a Go-Giver, read Bob Burg and John David Mann’s incredible books The Go-Giver and Go-Givers Sell More. They are both available from Amazon all good bookshops.
