Free photo editing software is not only available to download online, but it’s also very good.
But more about that shortly…
If you run a small business and write a blog, or your own website, being able to edit, crop, resize and generally manipulate pictures is a must.
This is because modern digital cameras produce images which are far too large for use online.
They are ‘too large’ because page load speed matters for websites and blogs. Especially since Google introduced it’s new ‘Google Caffeine’ algorithm, which actually takes page load speed into account when ranking web pages. So if your images are too large, they will dramatically lengthen the time it takes your web/blog pages to load.
(Read Google Loves You: 10 Top Tips for a Google-Friendly Website for more about page load speed).
Add to that the fact that images are rarely the right shape or size you want for a particular page or blog post and the need for photo editing software becomes clear.
Some blogging software (e.g. WordPress) has built in photo editing software, but you still have to upload very large images before editing, which can become difficult.
Of course if you already have Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, or any one of a host of other photo editing programmes you could use those, but if you don’t and don’t want to spend any money, then free photo editing software is a real alternative.
Unlike many others, Paint.NET’ free photo editing software is 100% free, is a full working version and is not a limited free trial. You can download it here…
